Here is my next post on Tofu-Capsicum sandwich for vegetarians. A very simple healthy snack recipe with just 10 mins of effort.
Most vegetarians struggle with food with high protein value. And you will hear statements like, "Oh, you can only eat Paneer to add proteins to your food". Certainly not true. Tofu,a soybean product, is a good alternative to Paneer, and is also low on fats.It has essential amino acids, vitamin B1 and certain other essential nutrients as well.
So do try and let me know your feedback.
And if anyone says, they went wrong in making this, that means they have not even tried making this.Because no one can go wrong in this one.
Another myth - Eating cheese is not bad at all. Cheese is very healthy and our body needs fats. How much cheese you eat, is what will determine the imbalance.
Ingredients -
1. 1 Chopped capsicum
2. 100 gm Grated Tofu
3. 2 Grated Amul cheese cubes or use the Amul cheese slice (optional, but adds very
good taste).
4. 1 Chopped green chilli (optional)
5. Bread (White bread, whole wheat bread... whatever works for you)
6. Green/Sandwich chutney (You can add if it is easily available at home.It will give a
good flavour. Don't fuss if its not available.)
7. Butter to apply
8. 1/2 tsp salt
Preparation -
1. Mix tofu, capsicum, green chillies together.
2. Add 1/2 tsp salt to above mixture.
3. Apply butter, green chutney to your bread.
4. Keep the tofu mixture on the bread.
5. Add grated cheese or keep cheese slice over it.
6. Place the other slide of bread and grill it.
7. Your sandwich is ready to be served.
