Sprouts & Pomegranate salad

My mom makes amazing salad combinations and we all absolutely love them. They are part of my lunch or post lunch snack.And one such combination is the Sprouts & Pomegranate salad.


I always try and include proteins in my meals. And since I am a vegetarian, I have to hunt a lot more for protein choices. So this is one super healthy, high protein and yet super tasty salad. My office colleagues used to love these different combinations, whenever I carried them in my lunch box. They had pestered me to share what all my mom puts in them. I am sharing her recipe on my blog. All the ingredients are readily available in most of the households.

This is the simplest recipe that anyone can prepare. Honestly there is nothing to do except mixing the ingredients together :):)

High protein, less oily and healthy eating option.Good mid-day meal/snack option.

Ingredients -

  1. 1 cup Sprouts (Whole green gram soaked overnight in water)

  2. 1/2 cup pomegranate

  3. 1 tbsp chopped walnuts

  4. 1/2 tbsp Raisins

  5. 3 or 4 red grapes (these are sweet in taste. But they are totally optional)

  6. Pepper powder

  7. Rock salt


Preparation -

  1. Take half boiled sprouts.

  2. Add pomegranate, walnuts, raisins, grapes to the sprouts. Add pepper and rock salt. Rock salt brings great taste in salads and it is good for health as well.

  3. Mix all the above ingredients together and you are done. :) You are all set to try this and eat it.
