Fried crispy Bhindi (Okra)

Sharing my recipe of fried crispy bhindi. I usually make another version; very similar but not fried. One of my friend loved it so much that he labelled it as his "chakna" with drinks. Usually people would eat it with Roti but he patented it with drinks. :D.

This time I tried a slightly different version of that same dish. I decided to deep fry it and make it crispy. The first time, my family tried this, they absolutely loved it. A very simple recipe to try at home.

This one can definitely qualify to be your "chakna".

Ingredients-

  1. 250 gm chopped Bhindi

  2. 3 to 4 tbsp - Besan/Gram flour

  3. 3 tsp - red chilli powder

  4. 1 tsp - turmeric powder

  5. 1/2 to 1 tsp - coriander powder

  6. salt to taste (approx. 1 tsp)

Procedure-

  1. After you wash the bhindi, make you to thoroughly dry it and then chop it into vertical strips. You can make 4 vertical strips from one bhindi. Basically make sure that the strips are not very thick.

  2. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt to the besan and mix well.

  3. Now add bhindi to the besan and mix it.

  4. Leave it in the fridge for 15 to 20 mins. Once you remove, you will see that the besan has stuff to the bhindi due to moisture.

  5. Now heat the oil in a pan.

  6. Add the bhindi for frying. Bhindi might take it a bit longer than other vegetables to get crispy. But don't let it burn or get charred.

  7. Once removed, add little red chilli powder and some salt on top. Mix well and its ready to be served.

Hopefully you all like my recipes. :)
