Arctic Landscapes – Tromso (Norway)

Day 2 of the Tromso Trip – Arctic Landscape

I will keep this short and let the pictures and videos speak for themselves as the next post is gonna be a bit long. Whales and their videos. 🙂

After an awesome Northern Lights display, we returned back to our rooms by 3 AM in the night. Crashed on our beds as the next day was another hectic one. We booked an Arctic Landscape tour, again with Wandering Owl. I would definitely recommend them to all. The tour started at around 9:30 AM in the morning. It was a very small group of

10 people and so we had the luxury of stopping the vehicle wherever we wanted. Our tour guide, Joanne , was a  super sweet girl from Poland, who was also a biologist, studying in Tromso. I was impressed with her work and attitude. And she was a big fan of the Indian Bollywood movies. Kajol being her favourite actress. 🙂🙂. Imagine the reach of Indian movies.

From our pick point in the city center, we headed to Grotfjord first. Our first pit stop was when we saw reindeers on our way. Amazing sight. Even the surroundings looked so beautiful. It was 10 AM in the morning and you would see only few rays of sun. Sun was already hidden somewhere. This is one of those places which is in darkness for 6 months of the year. One cannot even imagine how difficult it is to live in such climatic conditions. After having a good sight of Reindeers we headed further.

We drove to Grotfjord and then to Kvaloya Islands. I must say, I fell in love with Tromso.

I have never seen nature in this manner. As we drove, we stopped near lakes shores, sea shores, watching the fjords, magnificent mountains, beaches with frost on the stones, frozen lakes, crystal blue-green water. It was super cold and windy outside, making it very difficult to stay out for long. But our enthusiasm was super high :). We had a small lunch break on a beach in the Kvaloya Islands. Sandwich, hot tea and some cookies.

The journey to Kvaloya islands and back was what I loved the most. I have never seen beauty like this. Spell bound with the beauty. You cannot even figure out, which is a lake and which is a sea. Even a lake is as big as a sea.

And in my heart I know I will go back again. 🙂 :). And with that note, enjoy the videos that I shot in my return journey.
